I'm currently using a Vantec 520W PSU in my system. It's more than adequate for my current needs. I want to upgrade soon though, and I think this PSU will still be enough power for a new system. I don't have any SATA or PCI-E video power connectors on this PSU. I know the SATA adapter work without issue as I'm already using one.
Question is this - If I purchase a new video card that requires additional power (currently using a 6800GT AGP with Molex connector), can I use an adapter and attach a Molex connector to the Video Card to provide power? If so, are there drawbacks such as damaging the Video Card? Don't know many of the tech. details on the new power connectors, so I figured a fellow nerd would probably be able to help me out. Thanks!
