PCI Express x1 Video Cards...

Hello everyone, long time no post.

Does anyone here know any place in the UK, or in Europe that ship to the UK (preferably the former), that sell a PCI-E x1 video card?
Specifically, the X1300 one that was released a while back?

Was all I found (for reasonable prices). Couldn't spot the X1300 anywhere.

Ive seen the Matrox cards, but im not interested in them. Too expensive for what they offer.

I could be way off on this - so more research is necessary. But I heard that PCI-e 16X card will work fine in a 4X/1X slot. You may need to break off the piece of plastic at the end so the card can actually fit in the slot, but since PCI-e is serial it will just be slower. Then again, the cards must be lower power cards, becuase they get their power from the PCI-e pins as well... Definitely need someone more experienced on this issue.

You are correct, any PCI-E card will work in any PCI-E slot.
The problem is not the electrical theory, the problem is that the slots arnt easy to modify. So making a x1 slot accept x16 cards isnt as easy as 'breaking off a bit of plastic'. Tbh, it'd be nigh on impossible to do without breaking the board itself.
Hence why the PCI-E x1 X1300 im looking for is a better idea.

its pretty modifiable, alot of people did it for that server the dell 400sc or whatever to make the x8 slot takes x16 cards.


just the problem is the x1 slot can only provide like 20 watts,s o you'd need an x300se or something in that power range.


i know on the asus a8n-e they even have a x4 slot, with the end broken off for you so you can fix x16 cards in it for dual monitor.

No, they're not pretty modfiyable.
At least not on any of the boards that ive seen anyway.
But if you know of an easy way to modify the slots on a A8N Ultra, im listening...

Regardless, im not looking for information on the merits of how to modify a PCI-E slot, im looking for somewhere that sells the PCI-E x1 X1300 card that HIS makes.
