yes it is known that chiefvalue = newegg. they share the same warehouses etc

since newegg got more popular, they came up with chiefvalue to sell things the old way - free shipping. similar newegg prices, but you save on the stupid newegg jacked up shipping charges

Does CheifValue have the same good tech support as newegg and the same fast shipping?

They are the same site, basically

Thanks OP. Picked one up at ChiefValue. It was 3.12 cheaper than Newegg after shipping and taxes.

I don't think they can have pipes unlocked. Probably still good for PCI systems if you're only wanting basic video card abilities and if you're only wanting to play games from like 2001-2002 and older.

I have a question. I just bought a 6200 off of chiefvalue, and I am planning to install it on an old Pentium III rig that I have. The old rig has an old 82815 graphics controller and the main problem with it is that, I cannot view decent size video (say 640 x 480) without it lagging and flickering. So my question is, by installing the 6200 will it mean the end of the lagging and flickering when I try to view 640 x 480 resolution video?

The old rig consists of:

733 MHz PIII
512 MB RAM
82815 onboard graphics controller - (the highest color quality it supportts is 16 bit) - uses 8 or 16 MB from RAM.
80 GB HD
19 inch CRT monitor

It might mean the end of the lagging, but it could also be a monitor problem.

a PCI card like this is an invaluable must have for diagnosing PC video card probs. If computer works in VGA with a PCI card, you know its your AGP?PCIe card thats fubarred.
Always change bios to boot to PCI or VGA first.

something else is wrong. what app is being used?
i was watching an episode of the 4400 divxed using vlc with sony vaio with 82815 and using battery running at 486 mhz, 256mb
ran the battery down quick (of sourse), but didn't see any problems windowed or full screen
after plugging in, no problems whatsoever

I also have this card. Its great.
GF4MX was not bad, a very cheap and faster GF2. What does that have to do with this 6200, I'll never know.

Was in stock for a few minutes this morning and between the time i put it in my cart and shopped for somthing else then went to check out, it had sold out again..... how much better is this card vs an AGP version of a Ti4200?

honeslty in older dx8 games it may be slower than the ti4200 due to 64bit memory bus on the 6200.
But newer games that utilize pixel shader 2.0 and 3.0 should be faster and ACTUALLY RUN, whereas the ti4200 wouldnt be able to hardly.
ps- Dont know if i would replace an AGP TI4200 with a PCI 6200- sounds like a downgrade.
Try this XFX AGP 6200:
http://www.buy.com/prod/XFX_GeForce_620...VI_TV_Out_VGA/q/loc/101/202021205.html
ps- that AGP card WAS like $10 cheaper week of 4th of july. so not so attractive now...

It will probably suck when compared to an Ti 4200. If BF2 was compatible with the Ti 4200 tons of people would still have it. I think they made BF2 directly to NOT be compatible with the Ti 4200 just because it was the card that tons of gamers had and forced them to upgrade.

and that's exactly it

And whats wrong with a GF2? Just because a GF4MX wasnt a DX8 card doesnt mean the GF2 wasnt a phenomenal card in its day.

Not to mention my GF2 GTS lasted me longer than any other video card I've ever purchased.

GF4MXs were decent cards, the only people who got mad were the ones who didnt research their purchase properly. Too bad, and so sad? I think not.

I got mine and put it into my HTPC, and the TV out quality is much better then the old card I had...(a GF2 pro, by chance. Always goes to gray on TV out except when I use TV tool...which is discontinued...)

Big issue though - the damn thing won't play XVID at all with DirectDraw/DirectX acceleration enabled. Once I go up to that ticker, playing a movie just results in a complete freeze and lockup.

I don't know if it's because the MB I'm using is older, but I'm annoyed to all hell. (It's a BX133 RAID with the most updated BIOS I can get, even with a hacked in newer Highpoint driver for large drives).

If anyone has any ideas, would be appreciated. :/

bahahahahahaha

check nvidia specific forums for a workaround. its a known issue, from looking at the other reviews -- i could never get it to work right period, so just pulled it before trying to watch any avi
sorry for being of no help. i know firsthand how frustrating this card is
