PCI problem :/

Hi,

My problem that I can't use my new Pinnacle PCTV card with my other two IDE cards. System hangs, especially when playing games

It works fine with either my 3 Com network card or my TI Firewire Card, but when I put all three cards in together I get problems.

PCTV + 1 other card = fine.
PCTV + both = crash.
Doesn't matter which PCI slots the cards are in.

I spent hours last night trying about 10 different PCI configurations, putting every card in just about every slot, but I can't find one that works. The networrk card and the firewire card have worked fine together without the PCTV card, but when all three are together the system locks up, especially when playing games.

Can anyone suggest a fix?

If any of them are sharing an IRQ you may be able to manually assign a different IRQ in the CMOS setup to one of the slots in order to force a different IRQ.

You can try adjusting the "PCI Latency Timer" in the BIOS (try the min and max values), you can also try disabling "PCI Delay Transaction"

how much are you overclocking (if u are that is). If you are OC'ing, bring your FSB down to the default level, and see what happens. Running the FSB higher means that the PCI bus also runs faster, and some cards cant handle it.
