PCMCIA 56k modem card question

I ordered a 56k PCI card modem when I built a system for my friend but instead they send me PCMCIA modem card for the laptop. I decided to keep it cause it's a hassle to return it and got the card at the store instead.
Now I want to use that card on my Desktop PC for sending Fax and stuff ( I don't need it for internet. I have cable modem) I have Lexar card reader that support that slot. When I put it in it recognizes it as generic volume under storage volumes when I checked devices manager.
How Do I make that recognize it as a modem ? or it just can't be done.

I have a 56k PCI modem in the box that I think I briefly used. I might even have two of them. If you are interested in a swap please let me know.
