Firstly you need to Spell Pearl Harbor correctly.... Secondly, international suicide if they do shoot it in the direction of anything.

Maybe thats how crazy NK is... Remember it was not to long ago Japan was sending Kamikaze pilots and infantry on missions. The populace of North Korea has been brainwashed for years, if dear leader wants to go out with a bang they may actually have enough crazy generals and military personnel to follow through.

What if they have improved the tech ?
Does anyone really want them to launch one towards HI to find out ?

I doubt they would since it would be suicide, but you never know with that nutcase in power.

This country is like an itch many are afraid to scratch. If I was President, I would just nuke them and take the hit in the polls for the sake of humanity.

No need to nuke, I'm sure we know all the possible launch sites, just take them out with Aegis launched cruise missiles.

Most of the people will be out scavenging for grass to eat. You nuke their shitty capital to get rid of their leadership. After that, you bomb their rocket sites. It's almost guaranteed they'll crumble after that. Don't get me wrong, they will put up a good fight, spirit-wise. However, screaming can't protect you from bomblets, cruise missiles, MOABs, etc...

EDIT: And you cannot have peace without war. Right now we have a huge tension. Either we befriend these motherfuckers and modernize their economy, taking away their incentive to fight. Or we kill them. I am indifferent to either route. But I cannot stand tension.

LL, Sarcasm runs deep in ATOT. If you can't tolerate statements like that and recognize them as jest, I wouldn't hang out here.

Actually your also quite the idiot.....
I seriously doubt that Fear No Evil was being sarcastic in any way!
In fact that is something Fear No Evil would say!!

Here's the great thing about my statement. I was actually ripping on people who believe we shouldn't meddle in places like Iran and NK. Hawaii should just take the nuke, get wiped out, and take one for the team. Then we will know NK is serious. Because otherwise everyone just says NK is harmless. So Hawaii should just take one for the team and get wiped out. They shouldn't mind.. after all, NK is harmless. If we're wrong on that, oops.. Obama can apologize to the now deceased Hawaiian people and it will all be OK. Then we could probably apologize to NK for making them nuke us.

<Conspiracy hat on> If Hawaii get's nuked, they can start those birth certificate trials that people keep bring up about Obama, because there will be no way to prove or disprove the records. <conspiracy hat off>

And...that has what to do with anything I posted?

They can spend 100% of their money on their military - they're still spending considerably less than we do. Their military is still not even close to our league in terms of technology and size. So what's your point again? Felt like making a snide remark about Wikipedia - even if its accurate enough to show my point? I'm really not sure where you're going with this.

You posted your favorite part, I posted mine. What's wrong with that?

No one's military is close to ours in size and technology. Some are close (or superior) in size; A few are close (or superior) in technology.

My point is that their military spending compared to their GDP is insane.

Then hundreds of thousands are dead in Seoul alone, but I guess thats ok, but not tension. I have a feeling you aren't posting this from a computer near the DMZ.

Well, maybe not as an entire package, but I would consider Israel, Russia, and China to be close to us in some ways.

-Israel has Python 4/5 missiles and will have F-35s soon.
-China has God-knows what including the J-10
-Russia was working on the MIG 1.44 project, and I'm sure that technology is somewhere.

I would consider those three close to us in some aspects of military technology.

Even if they fire a missile at Hawaii and miss it pisses me off that they can do these idiotic actions and get away with it. How is this not an act of war if they take such actions? It's like a kid firing a gun at you and then missing you by a mile. The fact they they even pointed at you should be reason enough to blow them off the face of the planet. I think a mass evacuation of South Korea near the DMZ zone, nuking NK's military, and killing off their leadership is the appropriate response. I really wish China would get on board with us on getting rid of this threat.

How close do they have to come to HI to consider it an act of war? And even if it is an act of war what could an appropriate reaction be?

N. Korea is lucky in a sense because their geography makes an all out war with them a devastating prospect for nearby countries. So they get away with all of this chest beating and nothing really happens.

It is a tough position, not sure what the proper way to handle it is. Kind of seems like we're damned if we do and damned if we don't. They clearly don't really care about negotiations outside of some short term gains.

Noticed that this last go around with NK came after Obama's speech and the Iranian elections.

NK has been off the front page after the Journalist's incident.

They can not have that.

China I believe is prodding North Korea so they can analyze the U.S. response and missile defense systems. I also think North Korea is crazy enough to may actually want a war. If you were a egotistical maniac on your death bed, what better way to go out then with a bang.

Not true. China is royally pissed off at NK. NK keeps testing missiles at the Chinese border (hoping that an American strike of their missile sites will stray off course into China and thus drag China into a war).

Kim wants to leave NK as a legacy to his son. Not destroy it.
