That is what I thought at first.
I mean they are nice and all ... and i can appreciate the time and labor that went into them... Very cool... but what are they for? Just a case of some talented person with loads of time?

So . . you're asking what the point of Art, in its entirety, is?

I suppose it can be looked at that way... but... hmm... kinda hard to explain, but... ok... it used to be a pencil. Now it is art. It cannot be used, but it can be admired. so, is went to functional to non-functional. It is no longer functional, because to use it would be to destroy the art. If it were a plain stick of wood, it would be like someone took something plain and non-functional and made it better because it is now beautiful and admirable, and that makes it better. With a pencil, it went from functional to non-functional.
Hard to explain in words, but i know what i mean. not saying that it is a bad thing. it is quite beautiful, but i just dont get the reasoning.
