Pencil trick durability

I've been trying to OC my Duron using the pencil trick, and I was was wondering if anyone has had any experiences where the performance and stability degrades over time. Reason why I'm asking is because I was able to OC to 850 using fresh pencil bridges the other day, but it has gotten more and more unreliable as the day went on, even at the same temp and everything. I have also heard from other posts that people have solved instability issues by redrawing the bridges.

Any one else have similar experiences, or better experiences?

yeah, its not as stable as a good ol' conductive pencil.

Do youself a favor and go to an Automotive Parts store and buy the stuff to fix Rear Window Defoggers. Its a metallic type 'paint' . One application and it will last forever. Conducts much better than graphite. I believe that Permatex and Loctite btands are available.

I just bought a Duron 600 and an Asus A7V mb, and I don't really know anything about the "pencil trick" or overclocking this chip in general. Could you give me an idea of what its all about or point me in the right direction?

just OCed my 600 using B (a step below-softer HB pencil) pencil and it works fine so far.....however going to 900 may be a hassle for the lead
