Oh yeah, this will get REALLY good as these guys lose their nerve and start trying to make deals in exchange for testifying against the others. They'll be climbing over each other begging to get to be the one that gets a reduced sentence to spill.

This could get really ugly now. There was talk of a network that was setup to deliver boys to boosters, with big moneyed interests involved. I wonder if Spanier actually has something tangible on the governor, and if that somehow traces back to others.

Paterno family files suit against the NCAA
http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsport...o-family-files-suit-against-the-ncaa/related/

“This case is further proof that the NCAA has lost all sense of its mission. If there was ever a situation that demanded meticulous review and a careful adherence to NCAA rules and guidelines, this was it. Instead, the NCAA placed a premium on speed over accuracy and precipitous action over due process,” said Wick Sollers, attorney for those filing the lawsuit.

“An illegally imposed penalty that is based on false assumptions and secret discussions is a disservice to the victims and everyone else who cares about the truth of the Sandusky scandal,” Sollers said. “This matter will never be resolved until the full facts are reviewed in a lawful and transparent manner.”

Jesus, they need to just let it go. Same with all the people on the board trying to fight everything. All they're doing is bringing it back into the news.

If they'd just accept the sanctions and move on people would forget about it. The mob is fickle that way.

The sanctions aren't that bad anyway.

Streisand effect... full speed captain.

So they want to bring MORE light to this. :awe:

They already brought more light on this when a subsequent investigation revealed that the report that formed the basis for the NCAA action was full of shit. And since the governor is already suing, the more the merrier.

I'd personally like to thank the Paterno family for reminding me that their sick, geriatric fuckstick of a patriarch was a child-rape enabler.

Thank you, Paterno family--my modern attention span clouded by American Idol and kitten videos had nearly insured that this reality would be extracted from my brain cache. One more dumbstick public lawsuit like this, and I'm sure this will become a permanent fixture in everyone's mind.

That's not really applicable here. They're not trying to hide Paterno's involvement, they're trying to clear his name.

You should thank yourself as "you" are the reason they are doing this.

how is that?

I haven't said or really thought anything about their pedo-friendly papa in many months. Like I said--didn't really concern me on a daily basis.

Now I'm reminded.

The simple fact is that plenty of people are now going to make this connection when they hear the name Penn State, or especially when they hear the name Joe Paterno. Not a damn thing the family will ever be able to do about that, other than keep reminding people about it. good for them.

Only difference is that Paterno the pedo-enabler only crossed my mind in direct reference to PSU or PSU football (and to be fair, I tend to keep this separate from the University...but not so much that I won't let a jab pass by from time to time--if you have a problem with that, well, I really don't care). This family keeps putting themselves out there, I happen to think about it more.

PSU should really just tell the family to STFU and move on with mourning their pedo-friendly daddy in a more private manner. The NCAA didn't do a goddamn thing to tarnish anyone's legacy. Only Sandusky, Paterno, and the then-admins did that with the decisions that they made. Never forget that.

If lupi is a troll, it truly is amazing and subtle.

Teach me the way of your people.

If not, I'm scared for Pennsylvania. Does it really only take just shy of 300 career wins, 2 National Championships, and 3 conference titles to embrace a pedo-enabler? I would think you would need at least 1 national championship in every decade that you coached and probably 3 conference titles before being able to forgive child rape.

Yes, I'm a pedophile, from the piece of shit pedophile enabler. Seriously, fuck of and die.

Idiots like lupi will just say the judge is an ohio state fan.

Judge received JD from Tulane and undergraduate degree from a Louisiana School. I believe that they were probably very sensitive to making sure that the judge had no big 10 affiliations because large athletic conference schools have retards for alumni across all the degree fields for the most part.

I think it works on a ratio of wins to victims. 298 wins and only 8 confirmed victims is a 37.25:1 ratio. That gets you a pass in a football-deluded state like Pedsylvania, they require something under 10 to 1 before anyone gives a shit about the kids. Paterno could have covered up 21 more victims and still stayed on the plus side.
