Well s!$÷. I tried petrusbroder's method on one machine this morning, saw it was uploading everything and shut it off again, but 22,000 Einstein points have been lost.

I have done that on three machines once a day --- no problems.
Sorry for the not so good advice ... no harm intended.

Oh don't fret my brother, no doubt I did something wrong. But it does look like I'll be out of work for a few hours per machine, just before Einstein officially starts. Not as bad as several hours to a day, but disappointing none the less.

The Pentathlon is an interesting race. I'm learning bunches (that we are far out-classed by the big boys for one), and am having a good time, minus a few aggravating moments.

I'm going to skip YoYo@home.

Suggestions on what I should run instead? I think we can gain one place on WCG if I commit to that. So should I commit before or after Malaria finishes (too soon to tell, perhaps)?

Last year we tied with BOINCstats for 16th and 17th places.

Deja Vu? Lol. Lot's of racing yet to go!!!

The commentary indicates we are placing right where we are expected to be. "Quite appropriately ranked, I find TeAm AnandTech at #15..." Anyone else find that irritating?

Let's hope our plan of 'bunkering' upcoming projects causes a little bit of an unexpected shake-up in less than 24 hours when Einstein starts and we all can release our caches that we've been hoarding! :sneaky:

Well, I have quite a few Einstein-WUs coming ... we will see.
Since I am operating with the network access disabled, I'll also deliver quite a few MalariaControl WUs just after midnight ...
This is an interesting race. And fun. And very European.

I had the same problem with wcg before it started, tried suspending all the tasks individually and suspending the project as a whole and it still uploaded results. I'm running boinc 7.4.42. Right now I have over 90 e@h and 200 wcg workunits completed. once einstein is good to go I'll be dumping quite a bit. I still have about 2 days worth of work left in my cache.

you all are doing great!

All my rigs are running network silent. I'll be dumping half of einstein WUs at the green light this evening and a bunch more when yoyo goes green.

Fired up my 660TI and 570 a few hours back on einstein.

Peter, are you sure your technique is working? You appear to be leaking. :whiste:

On the other hand, I haven't leaked, and I should have ~120K worth of WUs to dump tonight.

Looks like we are going to get a substantial boost in Einstein from our quieter TeAm mates, the team's been averaging 400k- half a million points a day while we've all been gathered here running WCG and Malaria. Quite pleased to see that.

I'd just like to point out that certain WCG WUs have a 10-day deadline, including the Clean Energy Project and Fight Aids@Home. Now would be a good time to stop downloading WUs for those projects, as the end of the race is only 10 days and 1.5 hours away.

Good point, but I'd suggest reducing the number of days of buffered work units first.

As it's now well past Midnight Saturday UTC, let the network communication commence!

It's extremely volatile at the moment of course, but we have jumped from 17th overall to 15th due to 48 points in Einstein! (That 48 points comes from being in 10th place in Einstein!!)

This is crazy: Of 29 WUs I've sent in so far, only one has also been completed by a wingman! I went through the list of other WUs I've downloaded and suspended those that don't have a wingman, at least until tomorrow.

Edit: About half the WUs now have wingmen.

Dumped 136 400 points (i.e. validated points) in Einstein, expecting at least 250K more points (pending).
Dumped also 10K validated points in MalariControl WUs.
Should matter ...

I have 119 Einstein WUs pending validation.:|

I'll dump about 80 more when yoyo goes green.

Wow, we had a big hour #10 on Einstein!

820,049 points

Was that GLeeM and/or salvorhardin?

That was weird. I woke up this morning to find only 2 of 4 cores being used for Malaria.
Apparently one of their WUs made BOINC think it needed more than one core? Once that finished, it's back to all cores being available. If you catch one of these early, you might want to abort it.

Edit: I bet it was a RAM limit. I hadn't seen how much RAM some of these Malaria WUs use!

On the other hand, I noticed having cores free speeded up Einstein substantially. So I'm now using only 3 of 4 cores.

TeAm AnandTech have claimed Rank 13 with their splendid bunker and have thus gained breathing space to RKN, Meisterkuehler.de and the...teams of Boincstats (#16) and Gridcoin (#17).

Now that's a better report. Currently in Einstein, we do indeed have breathing room, bettering the 2 teams under us by at least a million points, and they are falling behind at a rate of at least 1 million points a day.

Regretfully, as I've stated before, I'm going to let my Einstein queue run dry due to the temp in the house, but it looks like the TeAm will maintain current position without me.

I'm skipping YoYo, sticking with Malaria to the end, then will see whether I run the last (unannounced) project or stay with WCG.

I'm guessing the last event is a sprint, no bunkering?

Although I'm not exactly happy with barely hanging on to 16th place, I guess it's still safe to say we're putting up a good fight!!! Well done, all!

Considering that TeAm AnandTech is quite a small team, with a few dedicated crunchers (and quite a few "set and forget"-crunchers) we are doing good - very good.
OT:
Howver, at this time point I really wish, I had all the computers I had in 2012 (21 computers with a total of 142 cores and 11 GPUs) ... at that time I produced approx. 1.0 - 1.2 million points a day ... we would need those now ...

I just dumped more einstein and my first yoyo WUs.

~400K for einstein and ~25K for yoyo.

I still have 161 tasks pending on einstein

My 3930K and 2600K are on yoyo and my 1090T and Q9550 are on malaria.

I have 2 GTX980, one 780Ti and GTX660Ti, GTX570 chugging away on einstein.

Anyone else doing yoyo?

EDIT: corrected numbers
