Yup the XTi is in stock in a lot of CC, I held one last weekend, but I am going with a Nikon D80, just a much better body for me. I have medium sized hands and can only get a few fingers around that tiny body. Plus the ergonomics blow the XTi away. Of course it is $200 more, but you get what you pay for. If you have not tried a Nikon you should or see if you can find a deal on a 20D much better ergonomics and the noise levels look pretty high in the XTi.
The Pentax is also great. The viewfinder is huge and bright, reminds me of a good film camera. I really like the ergonomics and feel of the body. They seem to have a really low noise image and would be sufficient for most uses. They have some really cool lenses and I might consider one as a back up as it will use old manual lenses and this can really save you a lot of money and get you some good glass cheap. You can find a nice used lens for less than $50, amazing! They also have a cool ?fisheye? zoom, something no other mount offers, and there quality glass is not to expensive. So a body for $321 would mean that you could get a pretty complete set up with several lenses and a good flash for just over a grand, HOT deal!
