Some key points for those who are wondering... (I've owned the camera for slightly over a month).
First, Pentax strictly recommends against use the Lithium rechargeable packs (CRV-3 CR-3.. whatever they are) because the output voltage on those is too high. When I bought my camera I picked up a pack of Energizer Lithium batteries and have taken over 360 pictures on them and they show no signs of slowing down. My next purchase is rechargeable NimH.
Second, according to the manual the camera only takes up to 2GB SD cards. So unless someone has a 4GB and can confirm it works I would make sure you don't get ahead of yourself.
Finally, the kit comes with a larger box that holds the two separate boxes. As was posted earlier, people on FW have said it should be no problem and I would concur since the camera body box has the appropriate code.
If i were unscrupulous I might buy a body and return it just so I had a receipt that showed I purchased the camera within the timeframe. I paid $520 for mine and it's worth every penny.
http://picasaweb.google.com/randyf25/NatureShots <-- a few shots I have put up on the web so far. I am no professional (not even close). The dragonfly and swallowtail were taken with a Tamron 672D 75-300mm lens borrowed from a friend. I have since purchased a 472D 70-300mm Tamron from keh.com (highly recommended). The sunset is with the 18-55mm kit lens.
