Sure, that's the right explanation. Let's go with that.
It was simply way jaggier than the One X.
I wonder if people who are clamoring for 1080p or such at current screen sizes are planning on holding it like this.I can notice jaggies on my gnex at around 6 inches away but i look like a fool using the phone that way.

Seems to me we've already hit the phone resolution wall.
I have the same experience. The screens on the GalaxyS and GalaxyS3 don't bother me at all but I can't stand the Bionic.
Although, now having gotten used to the S3 the S screen seems fuzzy
How close was your face to the screen? I can notice jaggies on my gnex at around 6 inches away but i look like a fool using the phone that way.
Like 16-18" or so. About how far I usually hold it when text messaging.
Dont get me wrong. its not terrible. theres plenty of other reasons to dislike the S3 screen, like its muted color and poor brightness, and a little bit of jaggy text isnt the dealbreaker there. All I can say is that I could definitely tell a difference between the sharpness vs a One X.

Just go to an AT&T store and hold a One X and a S3 side-by-side. Then you'll see it.
It's not that visible on the S3, as it's a more refined panel. You need to go back to the Galaxy Nexus or original Galaxy S to really see it.
Has the phrase 'pentile dysfunction' been coined yet? Because some of you suffer from it.
I can see it on my Gnex, but only for a brief second because it hurts my eyes to try and focus on something that's < 6" from my head.
Only thing I notice is the screen door effect with the Gnex. I don't know if that's the Pentile or what, but I've gotten used to it and it's not really annoying anymore.
bingo, you can't avoid the screen door effect on a pentile screen.
well that's a great argument! No one can possibly argue against denial.
yes sir, your argument is perfection. Pentile is magic.
If you know what you are looking for pentile is easy to see, even at 720p.
