dunno... I guess for the money... It uses DDR ram which is good if you have some laying around.

but chipset you want now is i945P w/ICH7 w/ DDR2.

Then get low-end P4 cpu and upgrade to serious P4 later when prices r cheaper.

Seems crappy IMHO. I'm not a diehard AMD or Intel fan, but the Athlon64-3000 for $10 more at Fry's seems like a way better performer, especially if you plan do to some gaming on it.

Of course, if it's just to be used for an internet/office app PC, then this should be fine.

Interesting, I didn't even realize Intel had 64-bit chips. Guess I'm behind on tech.

I don't think it supports HT. The one I picked up this morning is a SL8J8: http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/details.asp?sSpec=SL8J8

No mention of HT on the box or on the sSpec page.

just finished 9 hours of Prime w/o errors. didn't even hit 50 degrees c with an Aquagate Mini (stock HS is way too loud!). Today is the last day for this deal...
