If you want an opinion on a particular product - read all the reviews you can find and form your own opinion. Period.

If someone ask for help, that is another matter. Period

Bullsh!t. I have never known Wingz or pm to deliberately make statements for the express purpose of misleading people. Wingz was making a valid, debatable argument about upgrade paths (both AMD and Intel had long-lived platforms with socket7 and BX, respectively, but they are both dead or dying), but insinuating that his employment is mitigating his comments is low.

What is motivating this response? No, it's not any petty Intel vs. AMD crap (I'm just as interested in Pally or Thoroughbred + nForce as I am in Northwood for my next CPU). I'm tired of people harping on Wingz's (and formerly pm's) employment as a basis for attack. Frankly, they have shown more integrity and unbiased technical knowledge on their left thumb than I have seen you demonstrate thus far. If you can't see the value of having computer and electrical engineers participate in this forum, then I question your purpose in posting here.

edit: Same here, Bangsailio...when can we get the Technical Forum implemented so we can have intelligent discussions about hardware?

wow, all of u are just so mature, yes intel has some great features, and so does amd, but if u prefer one, go ahead be my guest. but to comment on the other about problems it has had in the past is just idiodic. i myself prefer amd, but i admire how fast intel has spurted up since i last looked. so stop arguing about it, to make a point this thread started about a comment intel made about buying their product to shop better online, some of us believed other wise, let it be.

Bah-loney. They've advertised P4 from day one as &quot;enhancing your internet experience&quot; and lauding the great &quot;NetBurst&quot; technology. It's a joke, and sales have reflected that. Sure, lots of people are stupid enough to believe it, but many more aren't.

The reality is, after 1GHz, it doesn't make a difference. People just don't want nor need more for online shopping, e-mail, basic web browsing, etc. They aren't willing to shell out hundreds of extra dollars to &quot;speed up&quot; their &quot;internet experience&quot;.

EDIT: One other thing. 90% of the U.S. is still connecting via 56K (or slower) dial-up connections. I don't think I need to tell you that with such a connection, a 450 and a 1700mhz will perform nearly identical in these menial tasks. The bottleneck isn't the architecture nor the processor, it is the connection. And this will remain true (for most of us) for the next 2-3 years, at least.

You keep missing something. I dont start these. All I did was clarify some bogus remarks. If you say something stupid, then you deserved to be called stupid. He said I was directly talking to the creator of this thread and not only did I not use his name, but I adressed it in a plural form. He's a moron for making that statement not a genius. Its very simple.

And in his case as you are doing right now, he made assumptions that had no backing. If you do it, I'll call you on it as well. Hide behind the cloak of superiority all you want, its a see-thru garmet.

LOL Thats right. I'm such a zealot I actually owned one of the first AMD chips with a K7V but I'm a Zealot right? LOL. And show me one place, just one where I said AMD Sucks or even something remotly close to it. Dont use big words you don't understand.
