Technically speaking, they're "pulls", i.e. pulled from working equipment, tested, and comes with a limited warranty.

To bad MC doesnt list wtf kind of cpu's these p4's are.. I mean they list the 6$ one as no hyperthreading i guess i can research that but I dont think id touch a non-hyperthreading p4 let alone a super hyperthreading p4 hehe. 3.0ghz northwood are not terrible but 939 chips are just as cheap and faster at most stuff. (can prob pick up a 3700+ for 10$)

I used to know a lot of people in the scrap computer biz, and older chips like the early Pentium and Motorola 68k were $35/lb in bulk and that was maybe 5 years ago prices. It was all going to China for reclaiming where there is no EPA.

I just realized that my mother has an older emachine desktop that I upgraded for her awhile back that could benefit from this. I know its a Celeron D chip, and I think its a 3.2Ghz.

I know the board has DDR1 memory. Does anyone know off the top of their head what chipset that would be on the intel side so I could find out what chips that board would accept?

Also, if I went from a Celeron 3.2 to a P4 2.8, would that be worth it, or would that be a step back? I think the Windows Experience Score on that computer is a 3.2
