Does the community have it out for Intel or something?
everyone's on the amd bandwagon nowadays and don't take the time to even give intel a chance.
personally, i'm not a fanboy of either company... i just like solid performance at an affordable price. that's why i think the pentium d is better than x2 processors, per value. when you do a little research and look at the benchmarks, you'll see just how good the pentium d processors are. then, when you check the pricetags, you'll realize that it's worth it to get the pentium d over the x2. the only reason i could imagine anyone getting an x2 over a pentium d is if they have a bunch of money to throw around to achieve a certain computer pseudo-enthusiast social status.
the difference is like the difference between lexus and mercedes benz. everyone values the mercedes name higher than the lexus name, regardless of the fact that that lexus is on par with benz as far as crash tests, quality control, comfort, noise reduction, etc., except it saves a lot of money to get the lexus over the benz. no one seems to care to do the research anymore... it's all about the name.
