Pentium III Price drops

Hello,

I read somewhere that Intel were goning to drop the prices on the Processors at the end of the Month jan.

Does anyone know if this is true???

Or is it all crap..

I think it's actually P4 prices that they're going to be cutting. PIII prices may drop as well, but the main focus is the P4.

Good, that means AMD will be cutting prices soon too!

Uhhh, AMD cuts their prices anymore and the chips will be free. I really don't think AMD can make anymore big prices cut on their CPUs until they release something faster. Their 1.3GHz CPU will be out soon so maybe then you see some small price cuts on the higher end CPUs.

Oh, yay, it will only be a little more expensive than the 1.2GHz Athlon then!

Pretty much, but those CPUs are already dirt cheap anyways.

For sure. There may even be some fairly large cuts on the 100MHz FSB processors of 1GHz and above when we see the 133MHz FSB parts, who knows. There will be big price cuts when Palomino hits though.
