I was going through my storage when I found 2 DEll Pentium MMX 200 with 4mg of ram. Its the one with the Intel 430TX PCIset. Is there any use for this as a computer? linux? gateway? router?
lol router.
no, any component fails on that board or whatever sub component it will be not fun hunting down replacements. aka it can't be relied on.
keychain or novelty as said.
I had a 166MMX that i used for linux based router/firewall for 10 years. Worked great, was the most stable computer i have ever owned, at one point was up for 1256 days in a row. PSU/HDD finally blew and i trashed it.
I would say use it as a firewall, router, or server by putting some flavor of linux or bsd on it. I recommend you try Debian, Arch Linux, or OpenBSD (if you're going for a secure server).
