Hey that's a good question. I would think no problem. But I'm still processing 'after changing all components except motherboard I still get the errors.'

It implies that the problem is with the board and not PSU, GPU or any other component

RX 460 is not a super powerful card, I am wondering if that is why you are getting the stuttering.

Yeah I grok the usage. I meant I was pondering what could be wrong w/the mobo. I believe flagmonkey referred only to stuttering.

He's adamant the PSU is fine, and I don't want to go negative, but as I recall some specific models of the CX line are routinely denounced online. At least in the past. Don't have any recent experience w/GB software.

I'm back on the fence as far as GB goes. But I'd be happy if this thread could help flagmonkey solve that problem.

It could be something else. Considering windows and drivers it is difficult to point at one thing. Recently I discovered that WHQL drivers are far ahead in performance in comparison to other drivers. But I also have seen how stuttering is introduced in new BIOS updates and get fixed in new versions. But the thing is that in other motherboards BIOS rarely affect performance as in case of Gigabyte. You can find complaints about Gigabyte and people avoiding Gigabyte boards for such reasons.

The CX450 is DC-DC topology, 37.4A in the 12V rail.
That PSU can handle a 2700X with an RX 580. It is way overkill for his system.

Do a fresh install of windows 10 1903. Reset the BIOS to default settings.
If you are already on UEFI F41, I don't know if you can go down to F25. Might be worth a try.
Make sure you install chipset drivers, and use Radeon adrenalin 19.5.2 WHQL.
Install also realtek audio from gigabyte, select the one that says Win10 1903. The windows 10 generic HD audio driver has very high latency, it can cause the stutters.

I'd think flagmonkey47 is on the right track w/GB bios then. Not to prolong this thread but between some GB issues and Asus bios malware I'm amazed at the state of things. Just boggles my mind.

I like the look of GB's bios but finding some tough choices between boards on my list. Looks to me like in 6 mo to a year things will be better, w/both 500 series and what I think a board is actually worth.

Might go cheap w/an mATX and pop AMD's next APU in it next year for the nieces & nephews. Get a few cheap controllers.

Good luck flagmonkey47.
