Driving with parking Lights.
WHY????
I get ticked off more so by people that for some retarded reason think parking lights were to be used while moving. Those times between dusk to dark or dawn to daylight.
Parking lights were designed for, and only for, stopped with no movement.
In other words, "paaaaarrrrrrkkkkkked".
You simply do not drive with parking lights on, ever never.
Talk about Idiocracy.

if by parking lights you mean the "first click" on many cars then I disagree with you. Without any lights on, my car (and i'm assuming many others) only has DRLs on in the front.

first click turns on front side markers as well as my taillights, which I like having on regardless of time of day. makes me more visible.

first off: He's a moron

2nd off, not all DRL's turn on your tail lights. So a lot of these morons (probably him included) are driving with no tail lights on.

First rule of life: people are morons

If you don't have your headlights on, I don't see you. I will cut you off, pull in front of you, turn in front of you, I don't care. If you don't care enough to turn a little switch, I don't care either.

I was going to put it nicer than that, but it is true that your headlights aren't just to help you see. They make it easier for others to see you. Especially around dusk/dawn when others have their lights on. Without your lights on, you just fade into the background.

What I hate is that my 10 year old car has headlights that automatically come on at dusk. Well, I guess I should say I hate that not all cars have this feature. When I'm in my much newer truck or 4Runner, I have to remember to turn them on and off.

I prefer controlling my lights myself. My mother's Corolla has auto lights, but I don't know what actually lights up; I never checked. There's a road near here that mandates lights on always. I don't know if her car has the lights on during the day, so I manually turn them on. If it were my car, I guess I'd know, but nothing beats the certainty of a real switch operated by me.

Ancient urban myth. I remember my father telling me that about a nearby city (not Chcago) at least twenty years ago.

I have been stopped by police because my fronts were on - automatic when vehicle is in gear and I forgot to activate the lights to put on the rear. Usually, I realize this when I am braking for them; I can then turn on the switch and confuse them. But I am usually honest and state that the fronts are on when in gear and I neglected to enable the rear. Always a verbal polite "please remember"

As to the topic; I will see one or two a day at dusk. People leave work; there is enough light on and they do not realize that it is getting darker; Their eyes adjust to see;

I always leave 'headlights ON'. Programmed my car computer to turn off headlights 1 minute after door close or lock. Works great as it provides illumination when I walk towards garage door late at night.

Most cars have gauges that stay lit all the time even with the headlights off. So it's easy for someone to forget to turn on their headlights.

Yes, I have seen this as a problem also. I just leave my stalk light switch in the ON Position and they turn off when the ignition is off and the door is opened.

My Volvo does that (even if the switch is "on" the headlights turn off when you shut off the ignition) but it doesn't have automatic headlights. Frankly I think that's a better system (especially as far North as Seattle is since in the winter it's dark when I leave for work in the morning and dark when I come home at night). Most other cars I've driven though don't do that, even with automatic lights.

A lot of cars now have constantly lit dashes.

My car has this AND auto headlights.

Yeah I thought all cars had this... my first car was a 98 and my current car is a 2004. I've never had to touch any lights other than switching to/from high beams, and signaling obviously. (some people don't bother with that though :awe

People think it's cool to push the limits and try and present themselves to others like they're willing to be super risky and roll the dice, because it's "different". It presents a "Look at me, I'm gangsta and/or dangerous because I'm creeping in the dark". That's the only reason I can think of for an asshole to drive until it's pitch black without their headlights on.

there was this one retard without highlights on during a snow storm. this retard was a good distance after a line of cars. i assume it was clear to turn, but luckily this retard had the smallest, fiat type car and braked in time.

my lesson: look for actual cars, not just highlights because there are fucking idiots are out there.

I also see some asshats drive at night with their daytime running lights at night. Just because they can see with DRL's but they don't realize that their tail lights are not on.

I have automatic headlights on my car and every time it gets serviced those assholes switch the lights from auto to off, fuck those guys! If I'm driving at night with my headlights off, that's why. Of course I'm not driving on unlit country back roads.
