^This. I have no problem seeing men/women of varying ages (21+) frequent bar and lounges. If you're married and looking to hook up then that is a different story.

umm...that's the same thinking that I have. It was fun when I was 21, now it just sounds expensive and drama-filled.
I said I look at it one sided because I don't drink
with exceptions (watching football/Nascar/whatever, going out with a group of coworkers, etc.),
Or, to put it an easier way - someone whose social life consists entirely of going out and getting drunk 2 or 3 nights of the week at a bar - maybe "loser" is too strong of a word, but it's close enough.
You got it. A place where trouble happens and the drinks are massively more expensive than you can make for yourself. People are lonely and needy because they don't have the only friend that matters. Bars are the culturally accepted delusional substitute for old fashioned rootedness and belonging.
I get all that social crap and excitement at church handling rattlers and here, of course.
Every week---yeah, that means you are looking at the meat market or have no life.
That's something most people grow out of by 25 at latest. Once in a while is fine, but when you get older and you say stuff like "Wow..can't wait until the weekend to get smashed!!!", people start thinking you have a problem.
BTW- everyone on Jersey Shore fits this category.
