Um, that's a pretty normal price, you find much better if you want to live close to campus. You can try looking south of wilshire at the apartments there, but they aren't that much cheaper.

Or you can do what I do and live further away (I live in Palms) pay $1200 for 2bed 2 bath and take the Big Blue Bus to school (free for ucla students)

i live in palms too...takes about 10-15 minutes to drive to campus...by the bbig blue bus it takes anywhere from 20-45 minutes depending on time of the day...plus time to walk to the stop.

i pay 1200 for 2 bed room 2 bath also

hey worth...no prob about the thread

to answer your question you'll have to ask yourself what you are looking for.
if you want to have a more social environment and less quiet then you should look at the high-rises (rieber, hedrick, sproul, dykstra) personally i would tell you to go to one of these your freshman year so it's easier to meet people, personally i'd choose either sproul or dykstra
dykstra is unique in that it is the only dorms where you have rooms straight across from each other (you can see into someone else's room the whole day if they kept it open the whole day) even better if they are girls

on the other hand if you want a quiet (i mean quiet) studying type environment, you could go for Sunset Village...plus the benefits of a private bathroom...the way these buildings aren't constructed mean that is more difficult to meet people, but it really depends on who lives in your house.
there is also the newer buildings in De Neve which are more high-rise like...but they have private bathrooms as well...a good mix but smaller rooms than Sunset

hope this helps! hehe...are you a senior in HS?

Ahh, yes, I'm a senior in HS this year. Thanks for your answer--I don't think I want to stay in one of those studious dorms where everyone keeps their doors closed.

Are the highrises divided between girls and guys by floor, or are they mixed on the same floor?

hmm...i heard apts around hilgard are cheap....and the rooms are much bigger atleast than around strathmore midvale etc...

palms is a good option too i think. i have a few friends who have huge 2 bdr apts for around 1200... but ur doing the right thing by searching now, cuz the places get filled up fast.

except there always seems to be one all girls floor. otherwise all co-ed.

just live in the high rises, much more social than sunset or the suites. de neve is a mixed bag. all the doors open to face each other but who knows.

atrium court is a freaking rip off... too much. if i get an apt next year i wanna go to palms.

It is very hard to get parking and I doubt people living in Palms would qualify (my old roommates couldn't get parking). Try using your home address on the parking app, you'll have better luck.

How are the apartments around Hilgard? It seems like Hilgard is much cleaner than the apartments around Gayley. Any chance of getting a 3 bedroom apartment around Hilgard?
