pilot whales most likely aren't endangered, so why shouldn't they be allowed to continue an age old tradition? they don't hunt whales very often and they don't do it commercially like the japanese.

also, danish people don't hunt whales, faroese people do, the Faroe islands are a selfgoverning territory in the Danish realm.

How is it any worse than sending a whole herd of cows up a chute to have a bolt shot into their heads?

The faroese people are quickly severing the spinal cord near the head. That's about as humane as it gets, even if it does look brutal.
