I heard it twice today, once in person (while walking through CompUSA) and another time someone said it online.
Do people really think its not offensive?
People seemed to finally stop saying 'Gyped' (sp?) as it was deemed offensive.. I heard it much more as a kid, but its no longer PC. Have they not gotten the memo about 'Jewed'?
Who really gives a crap about what's considered "PC" or not?
Exactly. It's just this kind of liberal, Political Correctivism that's dragging this country down a slippery slope of not being able to shout "fire" in a crowded theater.
91TTZ brings up a good point - who does, in fact, care about what is considered PC or not? The answer: red blooded, working class Americans, that's who. Real American's know that when someone uses words like "Jewed, Knee-Growed, Ker-Chinked or MexiSlapped" they're just words, they don't actually mean anything. They're just a way to keep people with different colored skin categorized, so those of us who live in this midwest don't get confused.
It is for exactly this reason why 91TTZ will go with me on my bi-monthly trip to Inglewood next Tuesday to talk to young children and their older brothers about my constant use of what the PC Thugs force me to call the "N" word.
From my standpoint, it has not so much to do with the "PC" of the words chosen, and far more to do with the character of the people who use them. I know that I'm not specifically bothered by the language used, I'm actually bothered by the idiocy the person using the language shows.
Whenever I hear anyone use those kinds of words, I know outright that they're not worth my time or respect. I guarantee you, the people who use that kind of language are not only stupid, they're jerks.
No no, that language has plenty of meaning behind it. It's a giant neon sign that reads "dumb-ass".
