Hey, I know a lot of people went and bought that great deal at Dell.

Well I am not sure if this will work for all people, so YMMV.

My order was cancelled because it did not pass Credit card authorization.

I called them and redid the whole order today. So my total was for 2 computers were:

$1318.00
-300.00 -> Glitch of $50 extra for Dell over $749 + $100 normally off
-50.90 -> One time use 5%
+79.80 -> DAMN NY STATE TAX, MY GOD THAT IS A LOT!!!
------------
$1046.90


Then I called like 10 min later after the new order was made and asked if I can use the new 10% off coupon. THEY SAID SURE!!!

So now it is

$1318.00
-300.00 -> Glitch of $50 extra for Dell over $749 + $100 normally off
-50.90 -> One time use 5%
-96.71 -> ADDITIONAL 10% OFF COUPON!!!
+79.80 -> DAMN NY STATE TAX, MY GOD THAT IS A LOT!!!

$475.10 EACH

Again though your mileage may vary here it most likely it will only work for people who got their orders cancelled recently because of CC verfication error and maybe people who ordered who has not passed production status yet. So it doesnt hurt to try.

I doubt his was the only order cancelled, for whatever reason - so, if someone needs to re-order, this is very hot!
He's just the only one that's done the deal . . . so far!

Yeah. That would be an awesome deal with an extra 10% off. That would save me an extra $78 if they accept the extra coupon. Doubt they would though. I'm still waiting on them to give me an estimated ship date. Let us know if anyone else gets the extra 10% past Dell.

I don't see any reason you are qualified for this 10% extra saving. Ripping off someone just because he is nice to you is not something worth bragging about.

I tried calling in to get the additional 10%...had to speak to the manager and he said that they can't apply coupons after it has been ordered online...is this BS?

His order was working and he already received the saving for his order. What he is trying to do is asking an extra 10% off which is he is not qualified over his order.

I think clarkmo was actually referring to the original post from AnimEva.

BTW - it was up to the Dell rep to give it to them or not - they did, so who cares?!?! More power to him!

Your are very lucky!, I had my order cancelled that day, I talked to two managers before I got them to give me the LCD upgrade, the system still came out $50 higher. I called today to add the coupon since It is still in processing and they yelled at me! , Literally yelled that they will cancel the whole order for even asking! And to add insult to injury, I work for a major Pharmaceutical company that uses only DELL (130,000 seats) as a contractor for a Global DELL partner!

That sucks. I agree, this will onlywork if you get really lucky to have a super nice CSR who's in a super good mood...

What Wei2cool is trying to point out is that people who did NOT have thier orders cancelled will try to get another 10% off.
