H8, that's bull. IT depends on what GAMES and APPS your running. Sure, Wordpad and Freecell aren't going to care for the Memory, but stuff like Deus Ex and other HEAVY DUTY game LOVE the memory...

When I was running WinME, I was able to Disable VM when I upgraded from 256 to 384. When I had 256 and tried to disable VM, I errored out loading Dues Ex. After I added another 128 megs, I could run ANY app, game..etc. with VM Disabled. Man let me tell you, you WANT to have a system you can run with VM disabled.. It is TONS faster!

I recommend 512 megs.. hehehe

I agree Whitedog, specially if your using programs like WMP7, office2K, IE55, newsreader and Outlook at the same time, it's way faster now that I have 256.

Well let me give you my own opinion on this. I was in the same boat as you and decided to pick up another 128 megs of ram to up my total to 256. Anyways when i put it in, i had some problems because i forgot that when you put in more memory you have to change your agp aperture size. Remember to set it to 128. Anyways i immediately loaded up a couple games to see the difference. No noticeable difference at first. My games might have loaded a little faster but i couldnt tell. Then, I just decided to play my games. NO HARDDRIVE PAGING WHATSOEVER. Man it is just sweet, before q3 used to hit my hd a little bit when it started up and now it doens't at all. Sometimes my hd even goes to sleep. Once i was playing heavy metal fakk 2 and the gameplay stopped on me and i thought it froze, but it was my harddrive spinning itself back up. So in conclusion upgrade why the prices are so low. You will regret not doing so.

Shouldn't the Agp aperture size be double of the video card's memory and not half the ram ?
