Hey guys, I recently got my P4 2.6c chip and have o/c'ed it the fastest I believe possible with the current stock HSF. I'm running the 2.6c with an ABIT IS7 and 1GB dual channel kit of Kingston HyperX PC3200 DDR400 2-3-2-6-1.
The fastest I've gotten the chip (and stable) is at 3094 mhz with a fsb of 238 and 3:2 ram timings. The AGP/PCI bus is fixed. HyperThreading is enabled. And I have the CPU using 1.6v. The ddr and agp are set to defaults of 2.6v and 1.55v respectively. The CPU with a load would usually run around 55C, and if I set the multiplier any higher 3dmark would usually crash. What I'm really looking to do is just get my chip to atleast 3.2 ghz, and very stable. Would I see a big performance gain by using the Thermalright SLK-900U with suppose the Sunon 92x92x25mm fan, which has around 48CFM? Thanks for any tips.
Also anybody that has the IS7 motherboard, what steps do you have to do to update the bios. I'm currently running the bios that shipped with the board, and I've read that Abit released newer bios with PAT enabled.
