I gotta side with dajeepster. Ordering computer items as new and receiving opened is not acceptable at all in my opinion. If it is very uncommon and the product functions fine and contains all the right parts then it is forgivable. If it does not function fine, parts are missing, or wrong, then the merchant should be highly cooperative and responsive to the customer in resolving the situation. Maybe there are other industries where lower standards are acceptable, but from my significant experiences, computers are not it.

Friends don't let friends buy from Hank's clusterfuckshop!

Try another vendor like sidewinder or jabtech.

A waterblock is not electronics. I think the shop tried to explain that.
If it was never installed, you are getting a new product.
Its similar to Home Depot that sell parts in bins. or a auto parts store that sells brake parts, water pumps in cardboard boxes. That people / counter people open and inspect for compatibility reasons.

.My wife ordered a Lian LI PCx2000F From them at the beginning of summer . Took a little over a month for delivery as it was out of stock . But they showed it in stock . But it wasn't a big deal . The painters had it 2 weeks and as I write this its in FL. getting Its graphics sprayed on . She has yet to recieve here radiator filter fan box from machinist . So we didn't care as it will be a IVY bridge box anyway . The Radiator/ Electositic filter/ fan air box we have recieved a patient on. Not that it worth anything but it is nice . Any law would probably refer to a re-selling a returned unit as new.
To get these type parts to consumers in any kind of timely fashion, some of these parts probably go right from machine shops to middle-men type businesses that handle the sales of these things. Its up to them to put together a more complete package with fittings, barbs / o-rings etc / . Match to buyers application needs.

I just found this out today when i tried to order a few items from them today for a wc build i'm working on. and they were a few bucks cheaper than frozencpu.

I went back and got the original emails because i'm not trying to blow smoke and to give both sides of the story as represented by the emails and from what I got of thier website.

The only editing done to the emails were my full name, email address, and address were removed, everything else in the email is unedited.

I did find a different site today (sidewinder computers) that has the items for a few bucks cheaper... but i'm a little apprehensive about ordering from a yahoo company.

Mate, if you had sent me that e-mail from the 15/2, i'd close your account after sending you the screws too....Are you like 20 yrs old or something?, do you not know how to write to somebody you dont know?....You might think its funny to get all uppity with them when you think you are in the right, but I can tell you now, you wont get far in life like that...!

Just my 2cents

Assuming that there really is nothing else to this incident - that's absolutely ridiculous behavior on the company's end.

Yes - the whole "I didn't order an excuse" bit was over the top, but if that gets your panties in a bunch you better get out of retail asap, and maybe out of business in general.

Once upon a time, I ordered some molex splitters from SVC.com, and they shortchanged me by three. I ordered 30, and they sent me like 27 of them. When I complained, they told me that the weight of the package was correct, so that I must be wrong.

When I opened the package, three of the splitters were turned around. So that if they were counting the connectors on the main end, they would have miscounted as 30. Simple mistake.

But the important thing to take away from this, was that they refused to correct their mistake. To this day, I have no idea how they manage to get a 10.0 resellerrating, as per their web site.

I stopped ordering things from them for quite some time.

People point out at him being "rude" and how he had no reason at all to threaten CC chargeback should check the dates on the emails.

That type of attitude by a retailer will cost them business in the long run. The fact that once threatened with the credit card charge back they were able to remedy the problem shows they didn't really put any effort into it prior.

A box simply being open does not constitute the product as being "used", or not new. There's nothing wrong with selling something that the box has simply been opened on. I worked for a place that every item sold was opened and inspected before leaving the store. That's whether it was cash and carry, or delivered. It virtually eliminated returns. We also had a policy that all items returned had to be in "as sold" condition, including all manuals, packaging, etc. We had to inspect the item to be certain everything was complete and undamaged in order to enforce that policy.

It seems explanations to you are excuses, and since their products come with explanations and sometime excuses, they can not offer services that you seek. I believe you have got the screws or you won't buy things from them again, so the conflict had been resolved. However, they do have the right to cease further business who you.

Yes, they should have sent you the correct product to you at the first place. You can have the goods sent back and close the deal right there, or you can request replacement. Keep sending emails about want product NOW and no more excuses isn't register correct, but raging anger.

Why the heck do you still buy things from them anyways?

Not by US law.
Buyer can request refund, or replacement, but can't be done at the same time. It is perfectly fine to ask for a refund, but it is not fine to send intimidating emails just because the buyer is not pleased with the service. Again, since the order has proceeded, the seller must fulfill the order, but there is nothing wrong with ceasing future business.

Hey, if the seller is okay of losing a customer, then who else should have a problem with that?

If the experience was so bad then why go back to buy from them? Saving a few bucks isn't worth pulling your hair out if something goes wrong.

I deleted my name, address, email addresses and tracking numbers from the emails that I posted on here.. I commented out with "url deleted" for the tracking number since the url was still active and had my address on it.

OK I missed that . I just thinking you handled this badly . Other than my wifes case being late very nice people and prompt with replies. You are aware that you could have had an online chat with them as my wife did are you not. As for open boxes it happens. New egg has shipped me open boxes . I stopped buying from them sometime ago but tried them 1 more time with the 2500K setup. I was happy except for the LG BD-Rom DVD rewriter . When I put it in basket It was retail . But I got OEM. If it would have been a customer PC that would not have been exceptable . I only get retail parts for customers.

Last order i placed with Performance PC my package was misdirected to another city when i contacted them regarding this matter they said it wasnt thier problem that they had placed the correct shipping address which was true. However I would have expected them to at least contact the shipping party that they used to correct this error. Any other company I have dealt with if there was a shipping problem they would I made calls to correct this . So I had to make the call to the shipping company and ask them to redirect the package to me

Performance-PCs don't exactly have a spotless track record when dealing with people they don't like.

I recall mildly racist comments emailed to a customer in Canada from a while back.

Disappointing, but I've never had an issue with them and will continue to shop with them until I do.

never said the experience was bad... and saving a few bucks on the internet is alot more cost effective than trying to drive from store to store to save a few bucks.. especially with gas prices.. and jeep mpg.. D:
