Performance problems with the UX305 ?

Hi.

After looking at some reviews, like the one on Anandtech, I decided to buy the Asus UX305, that core m powered ultrabook.

The thing is, that after some nice regular use (internet browsing, etc.), I tried some Dota2, and that it didn't performed like the UX305 reviewed by Anandtech at all (~30fps vs 54 with same settings). So I ran 3DMark (2013), and again, I got totally different results : 353,1293,2758,26926 vs 609,2273,4251,49619, for respectively FireStrike, SkyDiver, CloudGate, and IceStorm. I only have the 4Go/128Go of RAM/SSD version, but I don't think that it can explain the difference.

Then I looked at others review, and again, it's different : Techradar gets almost the same than Anandtech with 594,2190, and 4210 (no IceStorm), and so does Laptopmag with 603 for FireStrike and 48830 for IceStorm, while Notebookcheck with 407,2958,27325 (no SkyDiver) and Ultrabookreview with 390,1432,2889,26714 are more near my own result. And their other benchmarks differs as well.

But there's other things : Anandtech reports that it's core m was sometimes going above 80°C when loaded, while mine never go past 65. Would it only be about some thermal throttle differences? I've also read about these E0/F0 stepping, even if I still don't really know what the problem was with the E0. Would it be that very problem, could a so huge difference be explained by that? But even if so, my cpu is the M-5Y10c, which according to this, should have the F0 stepping. Would'nt the F0 one offers more performance, being the more recent one? But there's also Hwinfo64 which tells me that my real stepping would be E0.

So, does anyone understand/have an explanation for that, or experience a similar thing? As you can see I'm kinda lost by it.

Edit:
There's indeed throttle, unlike what I've read about this laptop. When running occt on 4 threads, my freq go up to 1.5, but when it reach 60°C, it go down to 1.2.

There's two versions, one with 1920x1080 panel, other with 3200x1800 panel. Anandtech reviewed the 1920x1080 version, Ultrabookreview had the 3200x1800 version, which would explain the performance discrepancies. Which one did you end up with?

True that it exactly correspond to the results in each review, but would it really impact the scores that much? I mean, it's not like it's benchmarked in the native resolution.
But I admit that it seems like a good explanation, except that I have the 1080p one. Would my laptop, by being the exception, have some kind of problem?

15 degress can make a huge difference. It could be that someone decided 80C was too hot so they updated the BIOS, or perhaps just changed a setting somewhere. At any rate, please let us know what you find, since I was considering that laptop myself specifically due to its higher "allowed" thermal headroom.

Well, I have the opposite problem...

According to HWinfo, mine reaches 85 °C (core temp) after 5 seconds of running the Prime95 stress test. It then reaches 89 °C and gets throttled, then stays at > 1700 MHz and 87 °C.
Isn't it supposed to go back to 800MHz after a while ?

Also, the CPU Package Power reaches 10.5W, which is quite a lot compared to the 4.5 W TDP and ultrabookreview's figures, right :\ ?

I have the QHD+ version.

Does it throttle when browsing Web or watching videos? And does it lag during lite use?
How hot does it run while browsing?
I'm looking forward to buying it for general productivity purpose.
Thank you.

It is disappointing that this issue was just sort of left floating around out there unresolved. I'm still completely on the fence about this core m stuff. I dont trust the review sites.
