They have both of my all-time favorites listed (Aqua di Gio & Polo Blue --- currently out of both), so I may have to give these guys a shot soon.

yeah but EVERYBODY likes and wears Aqua di Gio. I bought one anyways, generic can be fine if it's a night with generic (the type that would recognize A&F, Gap, and Aqua di Gio and that's about it) women.

I'm a lot more impressed with Burberry London than I was when I smelled it before. It does something completely different on the skin....
Not a fan of Pi Givenchy. At all. Maybe it's just on me.
Armani Code fine but not my favorite
Davidoff Cool Water good. Slight hint of...cedar? I'm not a pro. Edit: Actually liking this one a lot. Pine, not cedar.
Aqua di Gio haven't checked
Eternity by CK great.
Burberry London my favorite.

Does that mean the oils they sell will last much longer throughout the day compared to the similar "type" oil advertised?

I jumped in and bought Issey Miyake "type". I normally wear the fragrance from Nordstrom, but will give this a shot... if it's truly 100% oil compared to the authentic 10% oil / 90% alcohol, I hope the smell isn't too strong...

Definitely not 90% Alcohol, viscosity way too high for 90% alc. Jeo-- no worries, not too strong. I haven't tried the spray but with the rollers at least it's not difficult to apply the right amount and no more.

2nd impressions: Creed Green Irish Tweed and Burberry London are clear winners, in my book. Armani Black Code is alright for the office, but a little understated for a night out. Not liking Juicy Couture Dirty English as it smells a little strong and "cheap". Abercrombie Fierce is somewhere between Dirty English and Burberry London (and it was created by the same guy who came up with London) and isn't bad for going out with the younger ladies, but don't bother breaking it out for the cougars.

I just got my shipment from them. Ordered a 16oz "spray bottle". I guess I misread it, because it didn't come with a "sprayer" but rather a standard 16oz bottle. I had to buy a 4oz glass spray bottle from the above link (the site that sold roll-on bottles). Now I'm waiting for the 4oz spray until I can fully test it out. The scent from the bottle smells like the original product, but I won't be able to know for sure until I try it. So far, I feel optimistic about it... =)

I can second that on JC, not sure why someone recommended it above...

Spray bottle is just a straight squirted stream-- just get a larger roller if you want more, this stuff is thick oil and doesn't disperse like water / alcohol does in a squirt bottle.

Yes, the oil is not as strong as regular perfume/cologne. The alcohol in the normal store bought products speeds the evaporation and helps the scent stay strong.

For myself, I put some on my wrists, and some on the neck/chest. I've noticed that I can still smell it at the end of the day after I've hit the gym for an hour. Its not strong enough at that point that someone will smell you from more than a very short distance away. And it does not work as well in a club environment (the alcohol in regular perfume really helps here).

Nice post OP. I love that list and I am a huge fan of Hanae Mori and Jean Paul Gautiere. I might have to give this a try. Now i do have ne probably stupid question. But these oils have much less alcohol(if any?) mixed in. So is it possible to mix in some alcohol to improve the strength and reliability in a club environment? Also make it last longer?

Just curious...

I don't see why you could not mix in alcohol. When I was purchasing these overseas, they actually provided a list of available perfumes and how to mix them with alcohol to achieve the regular perfume. I don't remember the exact ratios, but adding alcohol should work just fine.

Ordered 13 - received 15 afternoon

I just got my first order . They use a crappy website(stamps.com) which doesnt give you any shipping status until its delivered ,so,close to useless.
Even though USPS package was torn outside ,all the oils were ok with no spillage.

There is a coupon "2off" for orders above 20$ ,which I used.

Got myself

Tried SMW and Lolita Lempicka .LL is quite nice and I still catch a whiff of it now and then after 3 hours .. I will post more reviews later..

Here is my question though,Are these SAFE??THe big names have to stick to a list of stuff that will not kill you (atleast not instantly - GRAS) .. BUt these "OILS" typically have no such restriction...anyone notice how a lot of scented candles come from china...?

That's a good question Keba. One that had actually not ever crossed my mind. I have been using oils that I purchased in Bahrain for a couple of years without problem. As to these, I'm not sure. That said, some people are sensitive to the higher concentration of perfume oils and it is possible to be allergic to the oils.

The first picture from the link below is of one side of the perfume handout all the vendors in Bahrain had (yes, every little shot had the same flier with the same shop name and #). The rest of the pictures there are of Gold City. My recommendation; never take a significant other there. Or if you do, leave your wallet behind.

What were the prices like? I wouldn't mind buying if it's a great deal. Then again by "significant other" I mean "married".

You pay for gold and jewelry by weight and purity. 24k - see the gold spot price as of 15 minutes ago plus a few dollars profit. The good thing is that the work is almost free. White gold plated silver jewelry is a good way to go. The plating costs between $5 and $15 depending on the size of the piece but you don;t have to worry about the tarnish.

Of course I did not take any pictures of the more traditional necklaces. Mr. T would have been put to shame there. And those were for the women!

True. One thing you won't find over there is 14k gold. Lowest available is 18k with the highest at 23k for jewelry. Last time I was there gold was about $30 per gram. Semi-precious stones were fairly cheap, ~$15 for an amethyst the size of a dime and you could find many stones larger than a SD flash card and about the same rectangular shape.

I contacted Common Scents, they recommended 10-15% oil, 85-90% alcohol base.
I believe they use ethanol in colognes. That makes this more difficult. Perhaps Everclear would do.
Edit: Yes, Everclear is fine.
Otherwise, there is "perfumer's alcohol": http://www.saveonscents.com/index.php/cPath/12_117
Denatured grain based, but with additives to make it bitter to the taste.

All these have a decent base note that lingers a long time. The middle and top notes dont
appear to be as strong as one would expect them to be.An apples to Apples comparison is
impossible since a lot of the origianl notes are not present ..or just too muted to note.
That said, the base notes are quite good .Dont expect these to be accurate to the note
structure of the original fragrance.

For example .. Original kouros is a spicy citrus top ,oakmoss middle and incense base ..but
all I get right from the beginning is incense ..THe orig frag also has a civet-urinal cake
smell that should accompany all the notes ..It is just not there!! Again, the initial blast
of clove and citrus is not present...Its incense all the way.Note that Im going by over 100
reviews of kouros from basenotes.net and havent smelled the original ,so there is a
subjectivity factor here

Some have a note structre to them ,but muted still...Not exactly one-dimensional ,not
accurate either.

I have tried and like 1 Million,Le Male,Dreamer,Lolita Lempicka

You describe very well what I experienced as well.
The weaker high notes seem to be preserved better when some of the oil gets onto my undershirt. The parts that stay on my skin, however, quickly lose anything but the base scent.

I've no experience with -any- of these men's colognes, and my nose is no better than average. That said, I'm thoroughly pleased with my purchase: the roll-on oils maintain a low-key fragrance for a full day -- with some still there the next morning! The packing was marginal -- only a tin bubble-wrap around bottle clusters -- but everything arrived intact. 'Guess I'll receive a second opinion in a week when I give a half-dozen spray bottles to She Who Must Be Obeyed.
