Man, that last episode was pretty damn good! Bringing Carter back like that was great. There wasn't much action but I felt that the whole conversation between John and Carter was really well done and didn't need the action that usually happens in this show. I was actually tearing up near the end.

I'm honestly curious, though now that I'm thinking about it it's hard to think of a good word for the show.

It just seems generic, tries to be more than it really is. It is step up from the other crap shows my wife likes like Chicago Fire/PD, but is mediocre/cheese tier like Scandal and the like

well, maybe not "cheesy", but surely "romantic". for being a show about a hitman, with murder, crime syndicates, government conspiracies and such, it's sure squeeky clean and generally overtly polite. nothing "real" ever happens.

imho carter's death was anticlimatic as well; she just did that exit stage left thing, whoops my character's dead. now they are trying to work some meaning into it.. aaand i really don't see this show as one that has potential for solid character arcs.

i just watch it for elias and dominic.

I didn't care for it either, but I think that's because I never bought the whole Carter being a love interest thing. Overall, the episode reminded me a lot of this season of The Walking Dead's Tyrese episode. Long, slow, and didn't really give us anything necessary or that we didn't already know.
