Yeah, beyond 4-5K, the returns start to diminish the higher res you go.

Unless you constantly stare at an unmoving wall right in front of you (i.e. a desktop picture), the texture resolution is largely irrelevant. The principles of rasterization still hold.

It's a lot like people not noticing AA. But game on such a setup for a few months and then try going back to 1080p.

YT simply kills bitrate. Original upload was 3840x2160 @ 50Mbps and looks great.
