As far as internet information (legal issues aside), if you put it out there (into the public domain), don't be suprised if it comes back to bite you. Phone taps are a different animal. Phones are there to provide a degree of privacy. With that said, if you associate with foul individuals, you do so at your own risk. If bad guy A is being tapped, and you are talking to bad guy A, and you confess to a crime, there is no reason that confession should not be used against you. There are "plain sight" laws that say if, in the investigation of a crime, you find evidence of another crime, the unrelated evidence is fair game.
