I have a huge chipmunk/woodpecker issue at my house. Theres a chipmunk epidemic going on in my yard and they are causing some major damage by digging deep holes near the foundation of my house. Woodpeckers are destroying my wood shingle house I just had painted with some very expensive paint/coating.

My solution to this problem is this

POWERMASTER 664SB

Does anyone have this or something similar that they use for small pest control?

Does anyone uses those coyote/fox (real/fake) urine powder?

I saw many places sell it online but I wondered whether they work or not

I used it at my parents house for rabbit and squrrel control (eating our lawn and vegtable garden).

It was a last resort, we tried fencing, netting, coyote urine, and a paintball gun. Way too many rabbits to stop though, even though tons were killed...

Ive tried all the reasonable control methods. This is the last resort. This isnt a animal cruelty thread. I like all animals and Im not into torturing or harming them. This is about them causing major damage to my house that is costing hundreds and soon thousands of dollars if not stopped.

Does anyone use these kind of guns for pest control?

I dont have a HUGE yard or anything. Its about 1 acre and the only area im concerned about is the area 20 feet from my house and closer. I will have some acorn baring trees remove shortly and I hope that helps. If I go outside and be quiet I will see 10-20 chipmunks in a 5 minute period. Theyre eating parts of my wood shingles and eating/tearing up my lawn and garden. The holes they dig next to the foundation cause water to get in down on the foundation and cause erosion and water damage.

Yeah, my parents yard is just slightly bigger than a 1 acre as well. Usually the shots were from around 50 to 100 feet.

It doesn't work too well against squrrels when they are pretty far away, as they don't stop for very long. I was using a pump B&S .177 air rifle, only around a 700fps muzzle velocity. Didn't have a scope though, just iron sights. Usually I could only hit 1 of 3 squrrels. Rabbits on the other hand... were not so lucky.

Don't use BBs though, they have a greater potential to bounce into unintended things...

I used to leave the sliding glass doors open a crack so I could fire from inside the house. If I went outside they would usually run away unless you were really really quiet.

"That's a confirmed kill."

Paintball guns are horrendously inaccurate at range. An air rifle with scope is usually pretty good. I can put pellet on pellet at 50 ft with 1 in. spread no problemo.

You needs accuracy when you can have several dozen paintballs falling on a target in seconds?

That's a helluva lot more expensive per shot than a pump-action pellet gun. I'm also pretty sure that's very cruel. Would you want hundreds of plastic shards in you?

One shot. One kill. It's more humane to make them not suffer.

if you're just looking to drive them away, what about airsoft guns? Target practice + nonlethal, and you have a wide selection of weapons to choose from.
