..my chihuahuas are crate trained so they prefer to "den" in their crate. Much healthier all around to allow dogs to use their innate disire to den.

Our Dane would love to sleep on the bed but the few times we tried it was clear that she can't confine herself to a small portion of the bed. Ergo, she has her own bed on the floor.

Our maltese and our cat sleep on the bed. Our german shepherd sleeps on the floor, on his bed, or sometimes he manages to somehow squeeze his body under our bed and sleep with his feet hanging out. No idea how he fits under there or how it can be comfortable.

I don't feel like it interferes with my sleep at all.

I love having the puppies on my bed. The only downside is when they become bed hogs so I'm forced to try and pull the blanket out from under them. Other than the blanket thing, I sleep much better with them there.

This.

The dogs and cats are banned from the bedroom, at all times.

It took me awhile to convince the wife, but after she realized we both got a decent nights sleep she was all for it.

My kitteh likes to snuggle up right next to me. Throughout the night, he'll just start kneading my blanket and that always disturbs my sleep.

He does disturb my sleep alot, but I feel bad if I push him off the bed.

I loved my cat sleeping with me.. but she would always pounce my feet when I'm sleeping. I kicked her off several times, and now she won't come near my bed.

Cats have their own beds they sleep in - outside of the bedroom. They are not allowed in the bedroom.

Four cats here, and none of them sleep in our bed at night. We wouldn't mind if they would just stay still all night, but that doesn't happen so they are forcefully removed from the bedroom at bedtime.

The Great Dane would take up too much room and the Aussie doesn't lay in one position long enough so they both sleep on the floor. I also prefer to keep the door to the room closed and locked at night and that doesn't sit well with the cats so they stay downstairs.

We make the dog sleep in his bed next to ours (except when the gf sneaks him in). He's just too dirty and its a "pack order" thing. The cat is untrainable so he always wakes us up in the middle of the night or sleeps on my feet and makes me uncomfortable. If you lock him out he scratches and howls all night, so its the lesser of two evils.

My bother has 2 cats and usually if you oversleep one of them will chew on his wifes hair since it's long enough until they wake up and feed them.

My cat often sleeps with me, usually against my back, sometimes right on me. Keeps me nice and warm, so I don't mind it. My parents have been gone for a whole week so she's been sleeping with me even more. Normally she'll only show up later on after I go to bed. She waits till the bed is warmed up first.

Dog/cat sleep on the bed near the feet. Both fight for the right to sleep on the bed. The cat usually wins.

70lb lab on the bed; healer underneath.

The lab took a bit of training since he likes to tuck in real close behind my knees. He would sometimes end up on top of me which was annoying. He now knows that when I ask him to move that it's not a suggestion. He moves or gets pushed off the bed. I resolved the dirt problem (they're in and out a lot) by adding a king sheet to the top. This can be shaken out without remaking the whole bed.

I don't need as many blankets in the winter. Summertime, he sleeps at the foot without touching me.

If there is truly a pet allergy, then the pet will have to be removed from the house - not just a room. Unless the mayo clinic has found a lot of allergies in the patients, I call bs.

Thanks for this thread; the dog's been off the bed for months but somehow she wound up sleeping here tonight. No wonder I'm posting at 1am!
