I came home from college for a few days and it breaks my heart to see how my dog has aged. He just doesn't move like he used to. He is 9 years old, so he will have a few more years, but he is such a good dog and I will surely miss him when he is gone. I was home recovering from surgery for most of this summer and he definitely became closer to me (We went for walks everyday, etc)

#10 made me feel like shit. When my parents put down our dog because he couldn't do anything anymore and was nearly unable to walk, I didn't go because I didn't want to watch. I feel bad now.

I was there when we had to out both of my Boxers down when I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing to watch and be there for, but man am I glad I was able to see them through to the end.

#10 makes my heart heavy. Duke and Duchess, you will live in my memories and childhood forever. Thanks for being such great companions and for playing ball whenever we could! You were the best!

The goat is a buddy for the dog. The goat's mother died when he was 2 1/2 weeks old, so we have a house goat... for now. He gets extra special treatment & will probably remain on the farm til he dies of old age.

We dont live on a farm.. I think I have only ever seen a goat once or twice in 23years - when I was overseas.

I used to love my parents' dog (used to live with him / them). I still cared greatly for him after I moved out, when he came to visit or vice versa - I would bring him over here on weekdays just so he wouldn't be alone all day. But ever since my kids were born, I can't help but think he's not as important as human life. I feel extremely guilty for feeling this way, but it cannot be helped. I only realize I'm neglecting him when I walk by him while he lies there alone. I pet him whenever I get the chance, but the time I spend with him pales greatly in comparison to my kids. It's a horrible feeling.

I won't own a dog because of this experience. I don't think it's really fair for either of us.
