Unethical Treatment of Humans

Watch the videos. It's like the PETA kids don't even know what to do or say. Their signs are obviously in bad taste, but the question is - did they think that they wouldn't be called on it since they were PETA?
On another side, I don't believe depicting such things should only be limited to people who's ancestors were oppressed.

Though I think the PETA people are pretty wacky, I think they are missing a real opportunity. They should play the "God card" and claim that their views represent God's will. Seems to work so well for others these days.

So does anyone have any comments on the nature of their signage? Do you think it was appropriate? Do you think the people mixing it up with the PETA people had a case or was this just another example of the Ultra PC world we live in where people get bent out of shape at anything they don't like and can blame on race?

I have to say when I read this I was torn over who to disagree with more: rabid black PC zealots or rabid PETA animal rights zealots. I... bleh. Let's just make a long story short. They are both two of the most obnoxious advocacy "groups" in the country today, and siding with either one breaks my heart (metaphorically speaking), but the PETA posters really are in bad taste.

Do we need to ask the question about what if the reverse happened? Do you think PETA people would have been upset if a group of Black activists used these same pictures to bring attention to the attrocities commited against their race years ago? Would PETA protest using the images of the shackled/hanging animals? Would the images still be in bad taste if used by the Black activist group?

Um... I don't know, why don't you ask PETA? You are asking... if black people wanted to draw attention to the suffering of black people in the past... and they put up posters comparing the suffering of their ancestors to the suffering of modern day animals... would that be in bad taste? Right?

Sure. It goes to the question of whether or not it's the images that are in poor taste or if it's only in bad taste because of who is using the images.

I'm just throwing things out here because i find these sorts of encounters interesting and often wonder how different reactions would be if things were reversed or changed up a bit.

yea basically, because of their underlying agenda they are never honest about real and reasonable solutions that most people could get behind. its like the pro lifer that even tries for even somewhat reasonable restrictions, because of their real agenda of trying to ban it you just can't trust them. petas real agenda is extremist to the core.
