I'm for returning Rolo as you can see, but I don't agree at all with your post. There is a world of difference between being disliked, a fanboy, or, a liar on a forum and failing to disclose that you are being compensated for acting as a spokesman for a manufacturer on a forum.

Bring him back, but make him disclose his relationship with NVIDIA.

I'm against him returning because one thing theres no shortage of on AT is biased information ... the video forum should (IMO) be a source of useful debate not advertising & regardless of wether forced to place a warning label on his posts, advertising is all Rollo provided.

for one, if his opinion differed, he would not completely disregard valid rebuttals. for another, at least until the very end, he was cordial in his disagreements (and generally had valid points, even if they were exaggerated). his writing had style and his points would at least make you think, even if you didn't agree. he also argued based on his own experience owning ati hardware, not just argue based on what he read from the exp. of others. he also provided a helluva alot of valid info.

to summarize, agree with him or not, but his posts were, at the least interesting for the most part. we certainly have not had a 'fanboy' like that since...

To everyone voting no or even considering voting no: Rollo will NOT misbehave himself in the least when he comes here. Since he is directly affiliated with nVidia's focus group program now, they are required to act in a professional manner. So that means his presence will be for the most part beneficial to the video forums. As I said in the initial post and I'll reiterate, I believe he will be a positive contributing poster to these forums because he is affiliated with nVidia and he tends to get new hardware and software (drivers) before many other sources do. Many have noted his negative behavior in the past but they glossed over the contributions he made as well such as doing extensive SLi testing on his own time for the benefit of the community as well as helping people whenever they had issues with their nVidia hardware. What he did was regrettable but it does not warrant a permanent ban, especially now that AEG is gone and as a focus group member, he discloses his affiliation in his signature and is not allowed to act unprofessional. I know some of you may be reticent about his return due to some past behavior but surely you can make an exception one time--especially since it's been so long and circumstances are far different now.

He generally had some pretty good info, which is why we come here in the first place.

Maybe he was a bit biased (still a lot of that on here too), he at least tried out both vendors products and would generally report fairly on his experiences with them.

I wasn't around for the earlier days, but I got the impression he gave ATI a fair shake from what I've seen.
