What I see here is people completely missing the point of how it is degrading to women, just taking things out of the blue to feel good about themselves. The trouble is the amount of sexualization of women. Men getting killed in the game are not degraded, they are just regular people who get killed. Women are degraded as they are just sex symbols. If you are ONLY a sex symbol, there is no way anyone will ever listen to what you have to say about something else than "would you like a blowjob?". That is very degrading and hurtful. I don't care if the hookers get killed or not.

I think it is hard to talk about misogyny because it is so deeply rooted in our society and history that it is hard to even see. I don't think that intent is needed, but I'll describe why in the next part.The thing is, you may call something distinctly misogynistic, and many do, but it's usually done without a clear justification or even explanation as to how it's actually misogyny. Can you deny this is true? The issue was never how Faith was portrayed in the game - - it was about dumbing down gameplay mechanics. This leads me to believe you've never even played the game. There are no empty shells or female prizes.

Whether she complains about the controls or not is irrelevant, the issue is this is about the worse person you could be consulting with to build a game, a huge segment of the gamers who care about this game don't want her anywhere near that and they have a right to voice that opinion and ask she be removed from the development process.
The issue is that she was NEVER involved with the development of the game to begin with. You might as well have a petition to stop PrincessFrosty from developing an army of mutant cyborgs to colonize Mars. It's a meaningless petition based on a lie.

The series was very popular, although the ending episode was confusing as it pretty much took place in the protagonists head. People complained so they gave the audience a bloodier and more downbeat ending.

Some people might be turned off by the rather extreme introversion and dysfunction of the protagonist. Mother is dead (watch for clues) and daddy gave him daddy issues.

This kind of attitude doesn't really help.
Feminists just like Anita Sarkeesian have just had GTA 5 removed from Target a major retailer in Aus because they claimed it promotes rape against women, the petition size when they did this was lower than the votes that the petition against Anita has now.
However dumb you think they are, they are effective, they're used in both the US and the UK to vote ideas to go in front of politicians, and they've been used effectively in gaming for many years to petition all sorts of changes, the release of developer/modding tools to the Thief fans, to fix the Deus Ex:HR port on the PC are just a few that immediately spring to mind.
