Default install of everything with default rules setup.. I have two NIC cards, one for my WAN (cable modem) and another NIC for my LAN with DHCP enabled hooked to a GB switch which in turn off of that switch is a linksys wireless router that is only acting as a wireless AP. There is zero problems with the configuartion, internet/wireless and shared folders work as they should.

My problem is that I can't figure out for the life of me how to get MS Remote Desktop to function again. I though I setup a proper rule to allow port 3389 to be forwarded correctly (if needed) and still no go

You are almost there.. You should first make sure that you have the port forwarded in the section Firewall: NAT: Port Forward and once you have that pointed to the machine you are trying to RDP into, goto the Firewall: Rules section and make sure that you create a rule that allows traffic on TCP port 3389 to the system that you wish to remote desktop to.. once that is in place all should work as needed.. With PFsense as well as other firewalls, define where the traffic is entering/going and then create a rule that allows such traffic. Hope that helps some..
