PGR4

Thinking of purchasing this game since I absolutely loved PGR3. It just came out yesterday, has anyone picked it up yet? If so, what did you think?

Oddly, I'm not all that excited about PGR4 despite loving all the previous versions even with all their flaws.

The fact that it is coming out on the heels of Halo 3 probably has something to do with that.

I still haven't even finished 3 yet. I love the game, but for some reason can't get excited by anything other than the cone challenges.

I just played it today, it's pretty fun, the motorcycles handle pretty good too, a ton better than in Test Drive Unlimited. I have a few packs unlocked and my favorite car, the BMW M5

I read that PGR4 includes all the cities from PGR3. However, does it mean we get all the tracks and its variations?

same here. I look forward to playing the new PGR, but I don't know when I am going to regulate Halo3 to a secondary game.

did I miss something? I thought PGR series were supposed to feature only supercars with minimum top speed of 170MPH (hence the slogan: life begins at 170)

Now we have motorcycles, M5, trucks, what else?

No. PGR has had cars all the way down to the Mini Cooper. PGR3 only featured top-end cars because that was all they had time for to be able to get the game out in time for the 360 launch.

Since when?
there were plenty of lower end cars in past PGRs

Mustangs galore.. older vettes, japanese cars,
plenty of cars that didnt do 170..

and yes there is a mini cooper and plenty of other low end slug cars in PGR3 for cat and mouse mode there are plenty of E class cars..

both you guys better take a better look...


and for the record this one smokes all the previous PGRs played it for over 8 hours last night.

I'll get it, but oddly enough, Amazon said it won't be shipping until tomorrow (10/5) when I checked. So I'll most likely nab it after work on Friday. I'm personally looking forward to Geometry Wars: Waves .

I went to buy it yesterday, but walmart (where i've got a credit to) didnt have it, so I didnt buy it yet.

Wal-mart has been absolutely horrible for games lately. They never have the games until a week or more after release (excluding Halo 3). I went there to buy games recently and they never had them... consequently, I now never go to Wal-Mart to buy games.

I have the same problem at my local wal-mart. I'ts the only place within 30 miles that I can buy games, though. I'm even surprised that they had halo 3.

Well, Wal-Mart around me was being all uber for Halo 3. They even had certain check-outs for people buying just the game so you could get through quicker, because God knows that getting through Wal-Mart check-outs is hellish.

Anyone else who played Forza Motorsport 2 for awhile feel detached from the cars in PGR4? I guess I am so used to the precise control and feeling of FM2 that I feel detached from the cars in PGR4. So far I am feeling like I might have wasted my $62.00 on this game. The videos I saw on Gamespot had me drooling over PGR4. I love dashboard views in racing games. But after playing the game for a few mins I felt like I had made a mistake buying this. The graphics are great but the car feel as you race along doesn't feel as precise. I am going to give this game more time but I am not thrilled so far. Any racing game fans have any input on how they feel about this game?

Don't even get me started on NASCAR '08. I can run the hell out of road courses in FM2 but I can't even make a consistently good lap around a simple oval track in NASCAR '08. I am still working on this and also FM2. PGR4 makes we feel like I am dumbing down the driving skills I need to use in NASCAR and FM2.

Ordy, PGR has never been a "simulation" game. It is realistic to a degree, but never on par with games like Forza or Gran Turismo. Personally, I dont like sim racers, specifically because they're TOO realistic. I dont want to play a game where I can only succeed by being absolutely perfect. Its more of an arcade style racer with a sim feel in my opinion. Of course, maybe I'm alone in thinking that.

So my sis bought me the game last night. Well, I didn't find out till 2am when I went to bed, stuck my arm under my pillow and oh, wtf is this? PGR4!!? So yeah, I'll try it out later today. *excited*

Ive always kinda hated the PGR series, but I liked 3 just for all the exotics and the eye candy.

Is there any word on a demo for this?
