All you really need to do is keep them out of the cockpit to prevent kidnappings and flying into buildings. Once you've done that you limit the effectiveness of terrorists attacks on airlines. Sure if you bomb it in the air you might get all the people on the plane but you can find much greater concentrations of people to get higher kill counts at places like stadiums, concerts and marathons

I'd say the most effective way to prevent these kinds of problems would include not kicking back and ignoring your government's foreign policy actions while they bomb the fuck out of innocent people for two decades.

There's a reason so many people hate our country, and it has not one bit to do with hating our freedom.
