Yeah, Phenom II love voltage and cold, so i think this with LN2 and only for short time.

What in the hell is the maximum multiplier on Deneb anyway ? It seems each time I see something like this, the multi is even higher.

notice how some of the numbers are not centered and some are...also notice te rounding off in some to one decimal place and other to 2....

I never get excited about suicide runs....I want to see a cpu at a speed and then ran through all the benches before I get excited....

No way would AMD introdue at a lower speed if these things had soo much headroom...

Exactly. Look at their last chips. They squeezed every last bit of speed out of them there was hardly any headroom left.

Fake... On CPU-Z screens, it will show HT Link instead of FSB... and this is supposed to be the screen.

Only at the validation website, it shows FSB...

The Pentium 4 made it to 7Ghz too at some point, but, the Athlons were still a better chip. Today its the same story, sure phenom can get to high Ghz under LN2, but clock for clock, 45nm Core 2 still puts a beating on them. There are a lot of people playing up the overclocking of the Phenom II, and its great they can get their clocks up that high, but AMD need to stop convincing themselves that the same clock for clock performance from one generation to another is acceptable.

Unless the 45nm Phenom IIs have dropped SOI, I wouldn't even think overclocks like this are possible. SOI's effect on yields has been to create a much more consistent output. There are less failures, but it's also much less likely to have any individual chip perform much better than any others.

A K6-III updated design may actually have been able to win a lot of benchmarks. Considering the K6-III was the K6-II with an assload of cache added, an update to the K6-III would probably have like 64MB of cache and be the largest cpu available. Run your entire OS kernel in cache.

While I don't see this oc as real, AMD would still keep it at the lower clockspeed for power consumption and a lower thermal envelope.

Intel actually does the same things too. Alot of their 45nm CPU's can hit 4ghz without to much trouble, but they keep the cpu's at a lower clockspeed do to power consumption and such.
