here is my point... if i have the phenom at 2200 which is the normal speed ok. and the ram at 400 everything runs fine, but i notice that increasing the processor speed will also overclock my memories, and the memories doesnt take kindly on overclock, and if i limit the speed in the bios to 400... (aka i cant lock it) the memories go down to 333, because that is their default speed in factory, But note that they are 400 but the factory configuration is 333 just to avoid any problem with max speed in some boards, so you dont get hang in the boot.
I try to overclock the phenom and when i hit 208 or 209 the system run unstable 209X11 is the speed of procesor lol, this happends because the memories go up and start screaming. But if I place them at 333 and take the processor to 220x11=2400 everything runs just fine lol with the memory at 367, another 20 in the processor will make the memories hit 400, thier speed, configure the latencies and such manually and the processor got the nice overclock....
Problems of this is that dunno if the processor can take the 240x11 and PSU will like it... 650 psu with one harddisk.. and 8800gtx... one dvd by the way.
Your power supply should not be an issue.
If you are at 240x11, run a 'stress' test like Orthos and verify system stability.
Whatever information regarding your BIOS settings would be most helpful.
Could you post
1) cpu voltage
2) NB voltage
3) hypertransport voltage
4) memory voltage
5) HT multi
6) NB multi
7) HT bus speed
8) NB speed
9) FSB/memory ratio
And any other information you think may be helpful
What are your memory timings?
What type of motherboard do you have?
thank you and good luck!
