Built a new system today. Ordered this morning. I have 2 other 80GB Sata drives that I already bought, thinking of running Raid 0 or Raid 5 with them. I also have some storage drives for the music, movies, etc. Let me know what you think of the build!! Total price was about $740 with $50 in MIR, so just under $700 for this thing!

Memory Standard DDR2 1200 / 1066 / 800
(Whether 1200 MHz memory speed is supported depends on the CPU being used)

since your buying new ram, I would of went with the highest speed

look for ddr2 1066 with 5-5-5-15 timings

Already went with the ddr2 800. The 1066 can be a future thing, or soon since its so cheap.

This is off-topic, but raid redundancy is BS for personal use--it just wears out the redundancy drive. You're better off getting an external enclosure and doing manual incremental backups. That way the drive is used only when needed.

But more to the point...

i agree with nortexoid, i have a 32GB USB thumb drive that lives connected to the back of my computer, i backup all my important non-media data(E-mail, bookmarks, user settings/preferances etc) to it every night using a backup program. For media i tend to burn it to DVD once a week or so. RAID is just a waste for personal use, wasted the hard drive and slows down your PCI/PCI-e bus for nothing.
