I am surprised there is not a thread on this recent development.

During a recent interview Phil Robertson was asked a question.

He gave an answer.

Various gay rights groups did not like his answer.

A&E suspended Phil from the Dusk Dynasty show.

Why is it that non-gays have an anti-gay opinion they are punished.

If I say I do not like democrats, nobody cares.

If I say I do not like socialist, nobody cares.

If I say I do not like liberals, nobody cares.

If I say I do not like gays, people start calling me a bigot and other names.

Why is that?

He is in the limelight and yes he can have an opinion but expect to suffer the Societal opinion of his opinion consequences.

He could have and should have kept his mouth shut.

He made his bed and now has to lay in it.

Many talk radio show hosts do this same thing. When their ratings began to drop they bring out the hate talk in attempts to raise falling ratings.
To get that old kumunchent on the couch all upset and maybe tune in on a regular basis.

I have no right to judge another person for their lifestyle. But that does not mean I have to agree or even like that lifestyle.

From a Christian standpoint, which I try not to get religion mixed up with sex, it is not our place to judge another person. GOD has the final judgement.

Its not that A&E doesn't have the right to dismiss the guy, its that his beliefs are not respected and treated as invalid because they aren't agreed with. People calling it hate speech and such, they do the same thing by calling any religious people the same thing.

There are plenty of religious people who don't hate. But people who use religion as an excuse to hate are still haters regardless of whether or not they hide it behind a bible and a cross.

In reality, NOBODY and I mean NO BODY! follows the bible to a tee. People are ready and willing to denounce gays because they're an easy target. That really goes to show you how stupid this whole thing is. They want to punish Phil with indefinite suspension, but are still willing to show reruns and collect revenue from those shows.

If they were serious about making stand they would pull the entire program indefinitely because his son had similar sentiments. But you can't expect people to hold to their convictions whenever money is involved. This is why Phill will most likely apologize and do a slight backpedal on his statements while A&E forgives him and the show will go on.

This whole thing is just stupid on so many levels.

Having views that disparage a group of people based on their sex, race, or sexual orientation makes you a bigot. Having religious views has absolutely nothing to do with it. If you knew anything at all about religion you would know it actually says absolutely nothing about homosexuals going to hell. But, as evidenced by your total lack of punctuation or grammar, you have no knowledge of religion or anything else for that matter. So here I am, trying to explain why you can't understand basic concepts like the definition of the word "bigot".


He is perfectly free to be a bigot. He just can't expect to drag his bosses (A&E) or the public into the pit of ignorance he inhabits. Does A&E have the "religious freedom" to tell him he's fired? I dunno.....there's a shit storm on social media and from what I am seeing most of it is in support of Phil. When we get to the point where nobody can express what they believe in anymore, people might just stop talking. If a gay or lesbian person has the right to express themselves and can be just as in your face about it, then to me a Christian has every much right to express that he doesn't agree with them. The double standards and the PC bullshit are what I have a problem with. Stations peddle absolute smut and promote crappy role models for kids, yet someone who stands for his principles is ridiculed and disciplined? It's not right.

It might help to realize that he has a brain that is enhanced to avoid unpleasant truth and to rationalize them away rather than face them like a man. This makes him very good at running away from lions but terrible at complex issues. But instead of being proud of his low information thinking skills he has to pretend he also has abilities he doesn't. He got the notion somewhere that if he couldn't do all things he is somehow defective. But what is defective, of course, is the ego state that tells him this.
