Walmart

This one offers the best signal at an area blocked by tall buidings. I've tried many models, but this one is awesome. You can get it at a local Walmart.

Do you have to get one of these for each set or does it have enough juice for mulitple sets?

Thanks.

Do I need a set top box for this or can my HDTV ready television display HDTV without it?

Yes, you will need an HDTV tuner if you don't already have one (either built-in to your TV or external).

Hmm...I guess I just always thought HDTV needed Component, DVI, or HDMI. Learn something everyday

You're thinking AFTER the HD tuner.

Hi,
I don't have HDTV but can I use it without HDTV? How's the reception for VHF and UHF? I have this Jensen antenna. But I have the TV940 model. I have a Toshiba 20" flat tube TV but the reception does not seem that good. I paid $80 for it. I wonder if this will do better?

Thanks.

I bought the philips MANT510. It's actually only 35db boost for uhf (majority of hdtv signals) and 50db for vhf. It seems to work better than the silver sensor for me. Walmart also carries the philips amplified silver sensor, 10db boost, for 5 bucks more than this antenna. I was going to compare them directly, but since the MANT510 works without problems, unlike my unamplified silver sensor, I won't be compareng them.

I picked one up. Works pretty good.

I was surprised...it came with no documentation...no user manual....no warranty....nothing. Was mine just left out?

I know its not that difficult of a piece of equipment to use, but I expected a little discussion of the LEDs, how to aim the array, etc. And the usual, "Don't try to use this thing in the shower. Don't insert rectally. etc."

Did you have to extend the dipoles to get good performance out of the MANT? I use the silver sensor now and it worked okay indoors but would flake out from time to time on a few channels. I ended up mounting my silver sensor outside and it works great now. I weatherproofed it somewhat but for the price I'll buy a new one when it rusts out in a couple years.

the dipoles are only for vhf. my silver sensor would get good signal indoors, but every few minutes, it would just drop or freeze for a second, especially on cloudy or rainy days. so far so good on the mant510, but hopefully a rainy day comes along for me to test soon.
