The Braun does not have the Quadpacer, but it is easily forgotten after a few uses.
Check with your dentist. I got both sonicare and braun through him and both were cheaper than the same deal at Costco and Sams.
I've used both and perfer the sonicare. I think that maybe you were using too much pressure when you were using the sonicare. You don't use any pressure at all. You just let it lightly glide across your teeth. The Sonic action will do the rest. I've been using my sonicare for over 4 years and I've tried others too because I want to keep my teeth...
Also, don't forget to floss! I hear the braun water picks are good tho, I haven't had a chance to use one... Next purchase I guess. Tho I haven't tried the NEW sonicare yet.
