They should've tazed him a bit more. Opening up an investigation is ridiculous and a waste of time/money. If the cop shot the kid, then yeah, investigate, but tazing morons should be part of police training. We don't use the taser enough.

there should be a weight limit for cops, it's kinda funny that he was too much of a fatass to catch him.

i've had to run from a cop before, and im just glad he was a fatass like that one was. makes things easier.

I can only imagine what the civil rights era would be like if they existed then and were used like you want.

I think that police officers or anyone in possession of a tazer gun for "keeping the peace" type uses should be forced to pay for their own replacement cartridges for the stun guns. Then we would see how little they are used because police KNOW that they are not always the right answer. Id say that tazers are probably used incorrectly or without merit a good 90% of the time.

Fail.

Just saw this on Sportscenter. The kid was just running around waving a towel, he would've been caught eventually when he got tired. The fans were cheering the kid on and I'm sure the cop got his ego bruised since he couldn't catch him and chose to make the kid ride the lightning.

Tasers are meant to stop violent situations from escalating in order to subdue someone. Not catching some idiot fan running in an OPEN FIELD with literally no place to go. Soooo justified, it's the first time it's happened. I wonder why?

At that time period, parents were actually parents and weren't afraid to discipline their kids. So there weren't the insane number of delinquents around back then than there is now. Kids were actually well mannered back then instead of fat, whiny, spoiled crybabies that the are nowadays.

He deserved it. The cop had his arm out for awhile, I'm sure if we had field level audio he was warning him to stop or he'd get tazed. Don't comply, errr...you get what's coming to you. Evading the police is evading the police.

fuck that kid, he deserved to get tazed for sure.

he was running away from the cops and they had to stop him, and they did, and nobody was harmed or hurt.

This.

Don't want to get tazed? Don't run on the damn field. Don't do things you aren't supposed to do, don't go places you shouldn't be.

It's really that simple.

100% correct. You can trace this societal behavior problem right to where the parents and schools began to stop disciplining their children and students.

Can't wait till I read the story about the kindergarden teacher tazing students for drawing outside the lines (I kid).

Wouldn't it be more interesting if every field had some rodeo star on standby and anytime a fan goes running out on field he runs out there on his horse and lassos the guy? I think I'd start watching baseball again if they had that. They could time them too to see who can lasso their runaway fan quickest

That was what 600 BC or so? You can trace societal behavior problems to the begining of time, and the same "It was more orderly before" arguement just as long.

I think it's pitiful that the cop is so out of shape that he really has no other option but to fire the tazer. Yet, the kid deserved it.

The kid deserved to get tackled and dragged off the field like, oh, every single other time this has happened. He wasn't violent, he wasn't endangering anybody, he was probably drunk and being a moron. Surround him, tackle him, arrest him. Done.

This is another case of a cop taking the stupid way out because he wants to be a tough guy.

Yeah, tazer use was exorbitant there. A tazer is still potentially lethal, and should be treated as such. They had several guys on him, basically surrounded, and they seriously couldn't catch him without one?

Hope that lazy fatass cop gets docked a pay grade.

You're kidding right? Or you must be 12, you can tell the huge difference between the number of delinquents these days to the number twenty years ago, thirty years ago, etc. Or you can just shut your eyes, cover your ears, and pretend there are no problems like you are doing now.
